Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (2017 – 2022)
Dwight Crane Ltd. is committed to providing an accessible environment in which all individuals have equal access to products and services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities. This includes creating and fostering inclusive and positive attitudes that are considerate and accommodating of all individuals, including people with disabilities. This also includes discouraging attitudes that devalue and limit the potential of persons with disabilities. Dwight Crane Ltd. is committed to becoming a barrier free environment and will endeavour to do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).
Dwight Crane Ltd.’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines the policies and strategies that will be put in place to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. Dwight Crane Ltd.’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan will be reviewed on an annual basis and updated as required.
Dwight Crane Ltd. has trained all employees and will continue to provide training to new employees as part of our Orientation Program for new hires, in accordance with AODA and IASR. Employees will also be trained if any changes are made to existing policies.
Information and Communication
Dwight Crane Ltd. is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. We will consult with people with disabilities to determine their needs, as required.
Accessible Emergency Information
Dwight Crane Ltd. is committed to providing the customers and clients with publicly available emergency information in an accessible way, upon request. We will also provide employees with disabilities with individualized emergency response information when necessary.
Dwight Crane Ltd. is committed to providing accessible internet and web content. Dwight Crane Ltd. will ensure that our website and content conform to WCAG 2.0 at Level AA by January 1, 2021.
Dwight Crane Ltd. will ensure existing feedback processes are accessible to people with disabilities, upon request.
Dwight Crane Ltd. will ensure all publicly available information is made accessible, upon request.
Dwight Crane Ltd. is committed to fair and accessible employment practices and this commitment is a part of our current culture and values. Dwight Crane Ltd. will accommodate people with disabilities during the recruitment, assessment and selection processes, when requested. Dwight Crane Ltd. has a process in place to notify applicants and employees of the availability of accommodation for applicants with disabilities, throughout the hiring process.
Individual Accommodation Plants/Return to Work Process
Dwight Crane Ltd. will continue to support employees on an individual basis with developing accommodation and return-to-work plans for those individuals who have been absent from work due to a disability.
Performance Management and Career Development
Dwight Crane Ltd. currently does not have any formal performance management and career development practices. However, we are currently working on these processes, in which we will ensure that the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities are taken into account.
Informing Employees of Supports
Dwight Crane Ltd. has informed employees of the Company’s policies in place to support employees with disabilities; new employees are advised of these supports during the orientation process.
Dwight Crane Ltd. will work with employees, on an individual basis, to provide communication supports needed to perform one’s job and provide information that is generally available to employees in the workplace in an accessible format.
Design of Public Spaces
Dwight Crane Ltd. will meet the requirements of the Design of Public Spaces Standard within the IASR when building or making major modifications to public spaces. Dwight Crane Ltd. will also:
- Take appropriate measures to prevent service disruptions to accessible parts of its public spaces.
- In the event of a service disruption, notify the public of the service disruption and alternatives available, and,
- Regularly maintain accessibility related equipment and processes.
